Junior Scrabble
This is a version of Scrabble for players aged 5-12 featuring a double-sided board. The introductory version resembles more a crossword puzzle in which all the possible words have already been spelled out. This is an aid to learning about spelling. Points are earned by completing words. The reverse side is an entirely blank grid [1], leaving players to come up with their own words. A point is earned for each letter placed. Letters are formed from cardboard tiles and do not have values.
Tell The Time
The object is to cover your board with the small picture cards.
Each player chooses a time board showing pictures of various times of day.
The players take turns to draw from a pile of time cards and announce the time on the card. Players check their boards for the time and the player with the correct board puts the tile on it.
The first player to fill her board shouts “Time Out!” and has won the game.
Tri-It! (Vintage 1985)
A simple game of tactics in which players move their pieces around the board in order to score points by enclosing triangles.
Disney Sketchy Tales
This is a drawing and guessing game full of Disney magic and it plays like Telephone. You each begin your story with a Disney character doing something a little unusual.
One player might have to draw Piglet mowing the lawn, another drawing Aladdin jumping out of a cake. Everyone passes their magnificent doodles to the next player who must guess what they can see. They in turn pass their guesses to the next player who tries to draw it. When everyone’s characters finally return to them, unveil the amazing journey they’ve all been on.
Points for the best drawings and silliest guesses.
Patchwork
In Patchwork, two players compete to build the most aesthetic (and high-scoring) patchwork quilt on a personal 9×9 game board. To start play, lay out all of the patches at random in a circle and place a marker directly clockwise of the 2-1 patch. Each player takes five buttons — the currency/points in the game — and someone is chosen as the start player.
Knight’s Quest
Knight’s Quest is easy to learn, with players themselves providing plenty of twists and turns along the way. Be the first to play every card from your hand by matching the color or number of the previous card. Use Joust, Dragons, Wizards, Companions, and other special cards to improve your chances of winning!
