Fantasy Forest / Event Volunteer form

We require a balanced volunteer team to provide the best guest experience for the festival goers, which varies from experienced gamers to mostly new gamers.

People who have game experience across a range of areas would be preferred. Specific knowledge other than Blood on the Clock Tower is not required as we can teach the core games and provide support, having the right attitude and temperament is key!

This is our general code of conduct it applies to all of our community online and in person.

Be Respectful
Be Fair
Be Supportive
Be Kind
Be Accepting
Be Yourself

Our amazing volunteers are key to make our events and community successful so here is our volunteer charter. We are more than a games night we may be a vital social outlet and human connection for some / many of our guests

Our volunteers create the Welcoming Experience:
We greet our guests and aim to find them appropriate games
We teach with patience and provide support as needed
We encourage and support our guests to teach games too

Our volunteers are role models and set the standards and culture
We will be respectful, professional, and stay positive.
We show appreciate and gratitude
We accept feedback with grace and share lessons learned.

We create an inclusive environment
We are mindful of bad / crass / sexual language, cliques and excluding folks
We are mindful of sterotype assumptions and gender inclusive language
We actively challenge bad behaviour, i.e. cheating, rudeness Inclusion trumps games rules,
we modify games rules / set up to support the players
We support players leaving games they don’t enjoy.

We will review all applications with the aim to create a short list of volunteers for finalization in May.

We want to allow enough time for volunteers to find this form and also a chance to get to know you and  ask questions.

Volunteering at some of our other events are a good way to see how we would work together. Existing volunteers will get priority.
