The challenge:

On January 21st, 2022 we are going to attempt to break the world record for longest time playing a single board game, the current record to beat is 75 hours. The rules of the attempt state that we will accumulate 5 minutes break for every hour we play, which we are allowed to accrue and use as a long break to rest and get some sleep.

Our chosen board game for the event is ‘Dune: The Board Game’.

It is our aim to use this challenge to raise money for charity; our chosen charities are Alzheimer UK and Herefordshire Mind. We chose these charities as they are important to each of our team and we are very grateful that they have agreed to be sponsored.

The whole event will be streamed live on Facebook, YouTube, and Twitch for those that cannot attend in person with links and connection options to be posted on the Facebook group closer to the time, scan are qr code or follow the

Help us:

The event will start on 21/01/2022 at Elmscroft Community Centre and will end when one or all of the team decide to call it quits. We will have volunteer adjudicators to monitor the match and keep record of the game wins, but at the moment we do not have enough and are looking for more people to help! If you are interested in being a volunteer adjudicator please apply to our Facebook group ‘Longest marathon playing a boardgame (Dune TBG) World Record Event’ or email longestmarathonboardgame@gmail.com.
