We like to give back. Our all-day games events are for charity and we aim to do one large event a year.
In both 2015 and 2016 we raised around £500 for the NSPCC. This was as part of the NSPCC’s Really Big Board Game Day. On each occasion we ran a 12 hour gaming day, with a donation to enter, raffles, auctions and a cake stall . A team of volunteers brought their own games to teach. Free venue hire (courtesy of The Core in 2015 and The Black Lion in 2016) resulted in zero costs and total proceeds to charity.
In 2017 we ran all- day event on May 6th at the Imperial to raise money for Herefordshire Mind, following a similar format to the previous years and raised over £526 and had 48 players. This charity was voted on by members of Herefordshire Board Gamers Facebook group.
As well as raising much needed funds, we are providing a day for the community as well as introducing the hobby to new people. Board gaming is a hobby which is full of positives; community, inclusion, fun and learning.
If you want us to introduce gaming to your community please ask and we may be able to help.
