So do you want to know what games we actually play?

Check this new page to see the list of the games we played on each of our games nights!

Hopefully it is interesting to help you remember the name of the game you liked you played last time or just to see the types of games we regularly play.

We tend to play shorter games so we can mix the groups up, be social and play with everyone and end the night on a big social game of codenames or something.

The Pub game starter kit in the flesh! / Thanks to our host the Imperial!

The Imperial has been a great host for us and have just started  a game shelf so as a thank you we’ve put together a selection of games from our recommended list to get them started!

Pub Starter kit: Codenames, Penguin Trap, Perudo, Zombie Dice and Rainbow Rage

The kit also contains a charity shop bargain copy of Carcassonne donated by one of our members. I think it is a great kit, you have dexterity, word play, dice and push your luck, bluffing and reactions. All of the games are robust enough to loose a few pieces, easy to teach and look great and exciting.

More information on the best games to have on a pub / café  or club games shelf is here

We have a new home The Imperial!

Imperial Hereford is now our Thursday home (along with Sundays at the Beer in Hand) I’ve have a few good chats with Craig the landlord who is keen to support us going forward and is hopefully going to pop up and play with us.

A few rules updates:
+Supervised under 18s are allowed in the function room until closing and before 9pm in the bar. (As a club we’ll need to monitor and see how this goes but I welcome all gamers young and old. I am happy to take suggestions on this as I have a potty mouth at times)
+Outside food is allowed in the function room.
+The is no room charge (currently) I am still going to collect voluntary donations to cover limited club costs like tea, coffee, milk, tablecloths etc.
+We are more than welcome to play downstairs in the bar and we can have section for us, for now we’ve voted to use the function room. (On Thursdays and quiet nights.)

I am looking forward to this relationship and having a stable home for the next year. (If we out grow the Imperial on a regular basis I’ll be surprised!)

Our 10th evening public games night was a blast

We had 17 players playing from 6.30pm to around 11. The night flowed well with players forming group and games flowing naturally. We tend to player shorter 90 minute games which allows people to try new games or play with new people. As usual we ended on an hilarious few rounds of Codenames.

For once I was too busy and didn’t take any photographs, but I saw the following games being played:

Darkest Dealings, Istanbul, Isle of Sky, Inis, Stone Age, Lancaster, Star Fluxx and Terra.  ( I am sure there were plenty more I missed)

An awesome night lots of laughter, good games and mild shenanigans. We are really growing an awesome community and family.
